This presentation describes the collaborative development and testing of a pre-use textbook evaluation instrument. The instrument was developed by a group of four MA TEFL students from Universidad Andrés Bello in Santiago, Chile. The evaluation promotes consensus building in order to facilitate an acceptance or rejection decision about the textbook. Two members of the  textbook evaluation instrument development team, Thomas Baker and Kathy Montoya, will share their experience on this project with participants.
